10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
First show: 15 minutes after opening
Last admission: 5:15 pm
Guided tours
The Gaskessel, its history and the conversion are unique in the world. In addition to experiencing the show, visitors can find out lots of interesting information about the exhibition and this industrial monument that is well worth seeing.

These coronavirus rules will apply from April 3, 2022
From April 3 onwards, there will be no 3G proof, no obligation to wear a mask and no social distancing rules when visiting Visiodrom at Gaskessel Wuppertal. Nevertheless, we strongly recommend wearing a face mask. Stay healthy!

Information for your visit
Please note that the gasometer is not heated during your visit.
The inside temperature is the same as the outside temperature, especially on cold days.
Please be on site with all persons approx. 30 minutes before the start of the tour to organize registration and billing.
Dogs are unfortunately not permitted in the exhibition and show area.
Parking spaces are available directly at Gaskessel.
Coach parking spaces are also available and can be reserved.
The Gasometer Wuppertal has disabled access. Disabled parking spaces are located directly in front of the entrance. The large show, the exhibition under the pressure plate and the restaurant are accessible without barriers. The exhibition on the pressure plate “History and change of the gasometer” and the Skywalk are only accessible to a limited extent.

Arrival by car
From Düsseldorf/Cologne/Mönchengladbach:
A46 Exit Wuppertal-Barmen, drive towards Barmen-Zentrum for about 1.5 km on Carnaper StraĂźe. At the “Alter Markt” turn left onto the B7/Höhne towards Schwelm/Langerfeld, stay on the B7 for about 2.5 km, turn right into Rauentaler BergstraĂźe, next right again into WaldeckstraĂźe – then the gasometer is ahead – there are parking spaces directly at the gasometer! (The navigation system may offer different routes. However, the route listed above is the easiest). From Frankfurt/Duisburg:
From the A3 at the Hilden interchange, take the A46 towards Wuppertal, A46 exit Wuppertal-Barmen, then follow the directions above. From Dortmund/MĂĽnster:
A1 exit Wuppertal-Langerfeld, drive towards Barmen/Elberfeld for about 2.5 km on the B7/Jesinghauser StraĂźe. Turn left into Rauentaler BergstraĂźe, take the next right into WaldeckstraĂźe – then the gasometer is ahead – parking spaces are available directly at the gasometer! From Essen/Bochum:
From the A43 at the Wuppertal-Nord junction, take the A1 towards Wuppertal, A1 exit Wuppertal-Langerfeld, then follow the directions above.
Arrival by train and suspension railroad
From Wuppertal Hbf take the S8, RE7 or RE13 to Wuppertal-Oberbarmen. From there, the Gasometer is easy to see and can be easily reached on foot in three minutes.
Or leave Wuppertal Hbf and take the suspension railroad in the direction of Barmen to the terminus at Wuppertal-Oberbarmen. The gasometer is also clearly visible from the suspension railroad station and can be easily reached on foot in three minutes.
