Please note during your visit that the Gaskessel is not heated.
The inside temperature is the same as the outside temperature, especially on cold days.

Please be on site with all persons approx. 30 minutes before the start of the tour to organize registration and billing.

Dogs are unfortunately not permitted in the exhibition and show area in the interests of the animals (due to light reflections and noise).

Parking spaces are available directly at the Gaskessel.

Coach parking spaces are also available and can be reserved.

The Gaskessel Wuppertal has disabled access. Disabled parking spaces are located directly in front of the entrance. The big show, the exhibition under the pressure plate and the catering facilities are barrier-free. The exhibition on the pressure plate “History and change of the gas boiler” and the Skywalk are only accessible to a limited extent.

How long do the shows last?

Our projection shows usually last around 30-40 minutes, including opening and closing credits.

What are the opening hours?

We are open for you from Wednesday to Sunday from 10 am to 6 pm. The first show starts 10 minutes after opening and the last admission ends at 5 pm. For up-to-date information on opening times during our shows, please refer to the visitor information.

How long will the show and exhibition be on display?

The current show and exhibition “Leonardo da Vinci – uomo universale” will be on display until January 2025.

What can you do at the Gaskessel and what is the procedure?

During a visit to the Visiodrom or the Gaskessel Wuppertal, you can first get into the right mood thematically in the exhibition. You can then experience the digital projection show on a projection surface of 6,500 square meters in the Visiodrom, the large projection room. A final visit to the Skywalk and Aposto, the restaurant on the first floor, will round off your stay with us in style.

How long does a stay at the Visiodrom or the Gaskessel usually last?

You are currently completely free in terms of the length of your stay. You can stay on the Skywalk, in the show and also in the exhibition for as long as you like. We only reserve the right to limit this if there are very large numbers of visitors. Our visitors usually have a stay of 1.5 to 2 hours at the Gaskessel.

What time does the show start?

Our projection shows run in a 30-40 minute continuous loop at the Visiodrom during opening hours. You are free to choose when you visit a show and whether you stand, walk or sit in the Visiodrom. Monitors with a countdown display the start of the next show so that you can plan at your leisure whether you want to wait for the next start or go up to the Skywalk at a height of 70 m or visit the exhibition again beforehand. You can also bridge the waiting time with a visit to the Aposto restaurant on the first floor. The countdown will soon also be available via QR code on your smartphone. This will allow you to see when it starts anywhere and at any time.

Can the tickets or vouchers be booked for specific days and times?

All tickets are valid once at a specific or booked time. Vouchers are valid within the opening hours until the end of the show and exhibition. There are no specific days or fixed times to book. However, with the Flexticket, you can visit the current exhibition and show regardless of visiting days, times or time slots.

Can dogs be taken to the Visiodrom?

As much as we like and appreciate dogs ourselves, they are not allowed in the Visiodrom, as well as in cinemas or theaters, if only for the sake of the animals. During the projection, it is dark and sometimes loud, which would frighten dogs. The perforated floor of the Skywalk also makes it unsuitable for the paws of furry friends. We are speaking from experience with our own dogs. However, dogs are welcome in the Aposto restaurant on the first floor.

We are coming with a larger group. Do we have to register them?

Groups of up to 20 people without a guided tour do not need to register. If you are coming with more than 20 people, it is always advisable to register the day before at info@visiodrom.de. That way we can prepare for you properly. For a group visit with a guided tour, please register a week in advance so that we can organize a member of staff for your tour.

How long are tickets and vouchers valid?

All tickets and vouchers that have not yet been redeemed are valid once only until the end of the show and exhibition (see question “How long will the show and exhibition be on display?”).

Do you stand, walk or sit during the show?

You are completely free here. You can watch the show in our huge projection hall, the Visiodrom, in any position that suits you. Standing, walking, sitting or lying down. However, our visitors usually make themselves comfortable on the numerous beanbags in the stands. This is the best way to enjoy the all-round projection at a height of over 45 m without a stiff neck.

Is the show and exhibition also suitable for children?

In principle, the show can and may be visited by people of all ages. In terms of character, the show and exhibition is more suitable for adults – but also for schoolchildren aged 6 and over. However, younger children will certainly have fun too.

Can the show be seen more than once?

Yes, it is currently possible to watch the show as often as you like during your visit. We reserve the right to limit this in the event of higher capacity utilization or a certain number of visitors.

What clothing is recommended?

A visit to the Visiodrom at Gaskessel Wuppertal also includes a visit to the Skywalk with a fantastic view of Wuppertal and the surrounding area from a height of 70 meters. There and also partly in the corridors and on the stairs you are exposed to wind and weather. Furthermore, the Visiodrom itself is not heated due to its dimensions (45 m high / 38 m diameter / 51,000 m³) and the temperature there is almost outside. We therefore recommend bringing warm, water- and wind-resistant clothing on colder days.

Is the Visiodrom or the Gaskessel barrier-free?

Yes, our premises are mostly barrier-free and also suitable for wheelchair users. We recommend that you indicate this briefly when booking your ticket so that our staff can prepare for you properly. Of course, you can also visit us spontaneously and we will do our best to help you gain access.

Do you have enough parking spaces of your own?

Yes, on days with normal visitor numbers we have sufficient parking spaces for you around the Gaskessel. If these are not enough, there are other public parking spaces nearby on Waldeckstraße.

Can I take food and drink with me in the Visiodrom?

For reasons of hygiene, we ask that you do not consume your own food and drink in the rooms of the Visiodrom or on the Skywalk. You are welcome to enjoy a wide range of food and drinks in the Aposto restaurant on the first floor.

Is the show suitable for epileptics or people with a sensitivity to flashes and fast cuts?

The show consists of images, cuts and music with a changing character. There are quiet passages, but also sequences with lightning-like effects. If you are prone to epilepsy, we therefore advise against visiting the Visiodrom.
