Art to immerse yourself in

The immersive 360° Van Gogh show

In addition to the classic exhibition, you can once again enjoy a unique visual experience on Europe’s largest 360° canvas. Vincent van Gogh explained the world in colors. His works, which can contain over 30 different shades of yellow, reveal his longing and passion. Vincent van Gogh’s world of color is ideal for an immersive narrative. The new show brings works such as “Starry Night”, “Sunflowers”, “Terrace of Arles” and many other masterpieces to life in monumental projections, merging them into a universe of intense color in this immersive spectacle. Let the vibrant colors, moving images and atmospheric music transport you completely into Van Gogh’s world.

The exhibition

A walk through Vincent’s life

Experience over 100 Van Gogh works in their original size. From his early years in the Netherlands to the formative impressions of his time in Paris and his final artistic development in Arles, St.-Rémy and Auvers-sur-Oise – the exhibition takes visitors through all the important stages of his life.

There is a lot to experience: Take a seat in the “Café Terrace in the Evening” and experience this masterpiece from a completely new perspective. In “Vincent and I” you will encounter all his famous self-portraits in one room and become Vincent van Gogh himself through an impressive staging. Further interesting background information will turn even “art laymen” into real Van Gogh fans.

The exhibition also looks at the path of Van Gogh’s work after his death. Vincent’s sister-in-law, Johanna van Gogh-Bonger, inherited around 500 paintings and some 400 drawings of unknown value in 1891. In 1987, Van Gogh’s Sunflowers became the most expensive painting of all time at 95.2 million dollars. What had to happen in the almost 100 years?

Scientific expertise

On the research trip to Auvers-sur-Oise, Van Gogh’s last place of residence, and in discussions with the Van Gogh Museum Amsterdam, our creative team deepened their understanding of Van Gogh’s work and his particular world view. The art historian and former museum director Dr. Finckh was always on hand to provide close and intensive advice to the creative team. Dr. Finckh has already supported us with his expertise for our Monet exhibition in 2022. Thanks to his in-depth knowledge and passion for art, we were also able to design this new exhibition at the highest level.
