Monet & Choir

On April 14, 2023, a fascinating and unique encounter between art and music awaits you in our Monet exhibition. The projection show in the Visiodrom presents Claude Monet’s breathtaking paintings in oversized format. Claude Monet’s impressionist masterpieces meet the a cappella singing of the renowned Wuppertal Concert Choir, which will make this event a very special experience with works from the same period. This unique combination of visual and auditory experiences will immerse you in a world of nature and reverie. Impressionism is known for its snapshots of fleeting scenes, such as those captured in landscape painting or nature scenes. Similar images of nature were already expressed by composers and poets in the early Romantic period in their art songs and choral works. In our exhibition, these elements come together to create a harmonious work of art. The musical part of the program will feature compositions by Fanny Hensel and Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, Clara and Robert Schumann and Johannes Brahms. These will be complemented by French impressionist choral literature by Jules Massenet and Camille Saint-Saens. The concert will conclude with two works by the two Wuppertal composers Lutz-Werner Hesse and Peter Paul Förster. Let yourself be enchanted by this unique symbiosis of art and music on April 14, 2023 and immerse yourself in the world of Claude Monet and his musical contemporaries. The Monet exhibition with the Wuppertal Concert Choir is an unforgettable experience not to be missed. Admission begins at 18:30, with the opportunity to view the exhibition “Monet – Rebel and Genius” on the first floor of the Visiodrom. The Monet projection show will follow the choral concert by the Wuppertal Concert Choir. Book tickets at: https://www.wuppertal-live.de/?453825
