Experience a giant picture book cinema with Leonardo da Vinci

City Director Matthias Nocke reads from a children’s book about the ingenious inventor and artist at the Visiodrom.

The city library and the Visiodrom in the former gas boiler in Heckinghausen are teaming up again. On Monday, August 26, at 4 p.m., they are inviting families to a giant picture book movie. City director Matthias Nocke will read from the children’s book “The Mysterious World of Leonardo da Vinci” in the Visiodrom. The reading is accompanied by fascinating projections from the picture book. These will amaze the children and immerse them in the world of the ingenious inventor and artist. The event can even be considered the largest picture book cinema in Europe, as the projections will be shown on Europe’s largest 360° screen. The children’s book was written by author Christine Schulz-Reiss with pictures by Paolo Friz and was published by Kindermann Verlag Berlin. “The combination of children’s literature with the impressive show and light effects at this special location in Wuppertal offers the opportunity to give children an extraordinary and unforgettable reading experience. We would like to thank the Visiodrom for continuing our cooperation and making this extraordinary event possible once again,” says event manager Florian Siebertz from the city library. After the picture book cinema, participants can watch the Visiodrom’s regular performance, the show spectacle “Leonardo da Vinci – uomo universale” and visit the Skywalk on the 65-metre-high roof of the huge steel building. Monday, August 26, 4 to 6 pm, admission: 3.30 pm
