“I find it incredibly impressive how playfully and respectfully Monet’s work has been brought to life!” As Minister for Culture and Science in NRW, Ina Brandes knows what she is talking about. The politician is also an avowed Monet lover and has always been particularly enchanted by the series around Rouen Cathedral with its 33 different motifs. “Of course, it looks particularly breathtaking on this huge canvas,” she emphasized in an interview with the Westdeutsche Zeitung. She also had words of praise for the art-historical commitment of those responsible for VISIODROM. Without the private initiative, it would not have been possible to breathe new life into the Wuppertal gas boiler as a listed building. “You can just come in and enjoy art,” explains Brandes. The project is a role model and is desirable for all NRW cities. In order to actively support the VISIODROM in the future, the minister also held out the prospect of funding from the state during the interview. We are very pleased about this wonderful feedback and the cultural accolade from our Minister as the highest responsible person for culture and science in NRW. This shows that we are on the right track. After “Monet – Rebel and Genius”, we are already looking forward with great motivation to the next show, which – this much we can already reveal – will once again be dedicated to another great artist.
