On October 19, 2023, the Visiodrom was awarded the Wuppertal Business Prize in the “City Marketing” category. The Wuppertal Business Award is much more than just an award. It is a symbol of special entrepreneurship that is closely rooted in the region. The award has been presented under the patronage of the Lord Mayor for 20 years now and has been highly regarded from the very beginning. The prize is awarded in three categories:
“Company of the Year”, “Young Company of the Year” and the “City Marketing Prize”. In the jury’s statement, Martin Bang (Managing Director of Wuppertal Marketing) described the Visiodrom in the Gaskessel Wuppertal as a new “cultural beacon” for Wuppertal, which has quickly developed an appeal far beyond the city limits. “Whether exhibitions, immersive projection shows, concerts or major events, the Visiodrom offers a wide range of possibilities and is a great asset for Wuppertal. The high speed of development and continuous growth are particularly impressive,” said Martin Bang. The “City Marketing Prize” is awarded to companies that contribute to making Wuppertal better known and more attractive nationally or internationally. And there is currently no way around the Visiodrom. The last Monet exhibition alone was visited by over 170,000 people, with almost 75 percent of visitors coming from outside Wuppertal. Previous winners of the Wuppertal Business Award have included the Von der Heydt Museum, the Pina Bausch Dance Theater, the Waldfrieden Sculpture Park and the Wuppertal Zoo Association. We are delighted to have won this award after such a short time and to be part of this prestigious group. It is the result of a committed, courageous and also somewhat crazy team with a lot of passion for our city. And the award also belongs to this team. The award makes us proud and motivates us to tackle the many new ideas and challenges in the coming years. We are sure that we will inspire many more people.
